Finding ways to extract 'bugs' from our water sources must be prioritised in light of the recent environmental/climatic challenges we are currently experiencing. These I suggest might affect the genetic make-up of existing organisms and new strains will therefore emerge. This therefore outdates the existing strategies of microbiological water quality monitoring. This therefore necessitates more concerted efforts to deal with the issues that may arise.
